Yellow link up challenge!

Good morning sunshines!  Today I am excited to link up with Marion from Marionberry Style for her Trend of the Month Challenge.  She wants us in yellow, and I'm happy to oblige!  To achieve this look, I got a little sneaky deaky.  I bought this cardigan from Forever 21 a couple weeks ago, and put it on under my chambray dress from Ross (yup, that makes 3 dresses from Ross this week).  I was really happy with how it turned out, and couldn't believe I hadn't thought if it before!  I love this cardigan not only because it's striped, but it mixes a pungent yellow with a neutral beige.. a trend I am super obsessed with at the moment!  I ended the look with my pair of yellow pumps that somehow change color in all types of light.

If you haven't yet visited Marionberry Style, what are you waiting for!  The girl's got great style and a fun personality.  Even though I don't personally know her, I know like her.  A true sign of a great blogger! Cheers Marion!

Ross find #2

Dress: Ross (recent)
Hat: Target
Flippies: Old
Jewelry: Old, ring most recent at CR
Nail Polish: Revlon

Good morning!  It's another 'holy crap I'm going to be late' kinda morning, but here I am... blogging and playing on facebook.  Today I'm linking up with Sarah from Simply Sarah for the pink link up challenge!  I've recently found her blog and have been following every day since :)  Head over and check out her cute pink and yellow ensemble she put together from H&M!

We were up late last night.  My boyfriend and I are on a dart league at the local watering hole.  It's a 'where everyone knows your name' kind of place, and it's in walking distance from our house.  They've got good food, and good people, so we've been regulars for about 4 years now.  Darts is a big deal down there!  Anyone outside listening in would think there was a super bowl going on inside lol.

So here's my other Ross find from last week.  When I pulled it off the rack I said to myself, "are you sure you want to do this?"  Lets face it, vertical stripes are sometimes a gamble, and this dress is striped from head to toe!  The weight of the fabric makes this maxi more forgiving, and at $15 I thought oh, what the heck..suck it in! lol

That's all for today! See you tomorrow :)

Pink Printed Maxi

Dress: Ross
Wooden Bracelet: Old
Other Bracelet: J Crew style via eBay
Shoes: hmmm... lol
I hope everyone had a nice, relaxing weekend!  I lost all control in the dress section at Ross the other day, and I bought like 4 dresses.  I recently posted this dress from that same 'it's my birthday week month, and I can buy what I want to' moment.
I love maxi dresses.  They're so effortless, and they go a long way.  On my lazy days, when I really don't feel like putting any effort into getting dressed...
A maxi dress saves the day!
Plus they're slimming, and forgiving in size.  A definite win win!

And the very best part? This one was only about $16!
Tune in tomorrow for yet another fun find at Ross!

Blue Gingham

Shirt: Old Navy
Necklace: eBay
Belt: Old Navy (recent)
Pants: NY&Co Similar
Watch: Fossil
Ring: F21
Shoes: DSW

Happy Friday! I don't know about you guys, but I am definitely looking forward to a 3 day weekend complete with picnic food!  Our typical spread usually includes fried chicken, potato salad, taco dip, baked beans, my favorite Middleswarth (only found in certain parts of PA) bbq potato chips, and you know.. all that other healthy stuff :)

So much for fitting into these skinny jeans come Tuesday!  Speaking of clothing, that's why you're here, so lets get back to that...
I just purchased this shirt at Old Navy, and I need to check my receipt because I feel like I paid more for it than $17 (the online price).  That aside, I really love this shirt.  It's very light and comfortable, and blue and white can be paired with almost any other color if you ask me!  Next to my chambray shirt, I think this may be my new favorite.

That's it for now.  Time to pack my bags and head to central PA!

Have a good weekend everyone!!!

Pink and Lace

Cardi: NY&Co (recent)
Dress: Ross (recent)
Necklace: Charlotte Russe
Bracelets: F21
Shoes: DSW
Clutch: Target (recent)

I had a half day at work today, so instead of coming home early and getting some chores done around the house....... I went shopping :)  I've been seeing a lot of lace lately, and I'm loving it.  I was excited to find this dress at Ross today because the F21 version was WAY to short on me.  I didn't like it by itself, but once I layered with a pretty pink cardi, I ripped the tags off.  This one's a keeper :)

PS- is it Friday yet?

Polka Spots

Cardi: Target
Blouse: NY&Co
Shorts: NY&Co (old) H&M has similar
Bracelet: Target (old)

I just love this cardi so much. The arms are long enough (which for me is a GREAT find). Usually I buy all 3 quarter length things so that its not so obvious I have "orangutan arms" (as my uncle once said lol), or that I threw something in the dryer that I shouldn't have. It's also very very soft and comfortable. And cute. It's a fun print in a neutral color. I'm a total sucker for that. :)

Have a good one!

Target Bracelets

Good afternoon! No outfit today, but I wanted to show off my new fun bracelets I found at Target this weekend.  They kinda have a "grown up" friendship bracelet type look.. or is it a femininity + rock star kinda deal?  Regardless, they were something different and I knew I had to have them!  Especially when they were only 3 for $12.  Stack them with a watch or some other stackables you already have at home, and viola!

Have a great day!

Just a little DIY

Hi everyone!  Sorry I've been sort of MIA for a bit.  I had a TON going on this weekend...
I won't bore you with my insane list of things I had to do, but I thought I'd share with you the end result to one of them.

My boyfriends sister and brother in-law are expecting their first child this July, and the baby shower was yesterday.  When I was asked to do the favors, the inner child in me was jumping up and down!  I LOVE fun projects like this!  I knew I couldn't fill a bag with candy and call it a day.  That's just not my style. So, the shower had a baby jungle animal theme, and the first thing that came to mind was monkeys.  Monkeys and bananas.  Hmm, bananas? Ah ha! Banana bread!

I followed this recipe.
Used this punch with Recollections "Monkeying Around" Scrapbook paper from Michaels
These adorable little clothes pins
Orange yarn from Wal-mart
Parchment paper from the local grocery store
Random yellow fabric found at Jo Mar
Regular plastic wrap

I made 7 regular sized batches of bread, which made about 28 mini loaves.  I can't even tell you how many bananas I had to use. If I had to guess, I'd say a crap load 30 something.  It was definitely a little overwhelming, but was happy I could pull it off in the end!

Blue pastels

Outfit: NY&Co
Necklace: eBay
Watch/Bracelets: Target

Hey all!  Hope this beautiful day is treating you well!  Another NY&Co top, and colored skinnies.  Shocker!  Am I predictable or what?  I have been so busy and overwhelmed lately (with a project I will hopefully share with you soon) that I have been playing it safe with my regular go-to's.  I'm loving all the monochromatic looks I've been seeing lately, especially in blues for some reason.  So, ta da!  Here you have it.

Tomorrow is my birthday (!!!!) and I plan on treating myself to some new threads.  Neons are on my must have list.  Hoping to find some new fun shoes too.  Wish me luck!

"Only You"

Sweater: Old
Pants: NY&Co
Shoes: Payless
Jewelry: Target

When my boyfriend saw me wearing these pants for the first time this weekend, he looked at me, shook his head, and mumbled "only you."  Thaaaaaat's right!  Ashley found herself a pair of crazy pants.

I bought these thinking I'd probably return to my senses, and take them back in a couple of days.  Maybe I will, maybe I won't...  ;)

Have a good day!!

THE Necklace!

Top: Target Similar Similar
Shorts: Marshall's Similar Similar
Shoes: Payless
Necklace: Ebay

I have been following a couple fashion blogs over the past couple of months, and this necklace pops up pretty often. All the cool people are wearing the J Crew bubble necklace, so I HAD to have one too!  I just couldn't justify spending $150 on a piece of jewelry that doesn't sparkle or tick.  FINALLY I found Miss Mini Me Style.  Not only did I fall in love with her blog, BUT she led me to Hong Kong!  I was so excited when I found this necklace through her, that I had a spaz attack and bought it in 3 different colors. I've been dreaming about this accessory for SO long, so now that I have it, expect to see it a lot in the next couple of weeks :)
I strongly urge you to check out her blog.  She puts together a lot of great looks, and her personality is pretty fun too :)

Have a great weekend everyone!!

Happy Hour!

 Shirt: Target
Pants: Marshall's
Shoes: Payless
Clutch: Target
Bracelets: F21

I have a confession to make... I'm not going to happy hour.  Nope- not at all.  Just wishing I was.  Tonight will consist of hours of laundry, and picking up my dressing room.  Ever since I started this blog, I haven't been able to see the floor in that room.  I have clothes laying everywhere- on the floor, on my vanity chair, radiator, back of the door shoe rack... It looks like my room growing up.  That's when cleaning my room meant only clearing a path from the door to my bed :)  Bet Mom misses those days!  Anyway, I need to go organize my things, so that I can tear it all apart again before the weekend :)

So on that note, off I go.

I should probably stretch first....

Take care all! :)

Mixing Neutrals

Shirts, Pants, and Necklace: NY&Co
Shoes: DSW
Bracelet: Target

As much fun as I've been having with colored jeans and color blocking- this is a typical "Ashley outfit."  I love white- especially with a summer tan...which I am SO looking forward to.

Speaking of wearing white, I recently signed up for my first 5K.  It's a color run, and you have to at least wear a white t-shirt.  Why?  So that every spec of color you get sprayed with (at each kilometer) shows up nice and bright!  I've never ran a race before, and I'm a terrible off and on runner... but I couldn't resist when I heard about this one!  I need to start training for it, like ... yesterday.  All the tacos and margaritas from cinco de mayo weren't a good start.  Neither were the potato chips and brownie I had for breakfast this morning...

Don't judge me.

Hope I get to the grocery store today! lol Cross your fingers for me ;)

Thanks for stopping by, and please don't forget to subscribe and follow!!

Pink Lemonade

Blouse: NY&Co
Necklace: Ebay
Pants: NY&Co (old)
Shoes: Kenneth Cole
Bracelets: F21

I usually love a good contrast with jewelry, but when I got this necklace I realized it was an exact match for one of my New York and Company shirts (yes, I bought it in almost every color lol).  I had to try pink on pink.  My sweet Grandma's favorite color <3.  It's a very simple outfit, but very girly too :) Makes me think of a pink lemonade!! yum!!

Have a good day! The sun is shining here :)

Purple Pants

Obsessed much..?

 Cardi: Old Navy Similar
Shirt: H&M (recent)
Cami: Old
Necklace: JCP
Pants: NY&Co
Shoes: Payless

Is my love for colored skinny jeans obvious yet?  Every time NY&Co comes out with a new color, I scoop them right up! And most of the time I have NO clue what to wear with them (but of course I still "NEED" them).  These have been sitting around for weeks, and I've decided it's time to break em out!!  I'm not a purple person, but I like what the yellow does with it.  It's sort of unexpected, but kinda fun and interesting.  At least I hope so ;)  And of course there's some leopard in there.  I just can't help myself.

Anyway....

Happy Monday everyone! (Those 2 words really don't go together if you ask me.. but I hope it's working out for you lol)

So, my battery died in my camera.. aaaaaaaaaand I can't find the charger.  So for now, we'll have to settle for the oh-so-great iPhone quality images.

Have to keep it short today (since I spent an hour looking for the charger gone rogue).  I'm packing for my trip this weekend.  It's the big 5-0 for mama dukes!!  She would hate if she knew I was announcing that to the world :)  I'll make it up to her with a big frozen MARGARITA!! <3  AY-YA-YA-YA-YA! hahaha. Sorry.

Have a good weekend!!!!! :)

Rainy day = Sunny pants :)

Chambray Top : Target ( Similar )
First Necklace: NY&Co (old) ( Similar and LOVE )
Second Necklace: JCP (Liz Claiborne) Still in stores
Watch: NY&Co ( old but they always have them)
Green Sweater: Old Navy (From the Fall)
Skinnies: NY&Co (check stores)
Shoes: DSW

Please excuse my lighting issues :)  The last outfit with the green sweater (a good way to bring fall sweaters into spring) is super bright here.  If it looked this 'off' in person, I would've never tried to photograph it. Maybe I'll redo it later (running SUPER late for work- nothing new).  The colors/textures do work well, PROMISE!

I'm really glad I did my hair today...NOT.  I wasn't aware that it was raining until after I got myself ready.  After 10 mins my hair went up into the "sock bun."  I found that idea on pinterest, and I love how easy it is!  Anyway, these pants are a good way to brighten a rainy day aren't they? :)  Have a good one!  And don't forget to "subscribe" and follow.  Thanks! :)
